Dog Food Deals

Sometimes I get really frustrated with coupons. Then I read other blogs and see deals like this.It really re-energizes me to stay with the updates and keep trying. While, I've had some great deals with dog treats and food. I don't get upset when I don't get the same exact deal. I just remember that a dollar saved is a dollar saved.
This week at Target I got a 4lb bag of beneful for 2.69 but using the 2.00 off coupon I received in the free Dog's life Magazine Walmart offer.
My sister got 18lbs of Purina one for $12.00. While these are not the best scenarios using coupons available. They are good enough for me. First, we have three dogs in our house. If I was to only buy 4lb bags or smaller even if they are free, I'd still be getting a lot of smaller bags. We don't have the storage space for that where we live. So I would rather use those high value coupons to buy larger bags when possible. This scenario might not be best for you. Couponing is not about copying what one blogger or reader does exactly. Couponing is about making a system that works best for you, whatever that may be.

Kmart has beneful coupons available in a booklet at the front of their store. Keep an eye out for them. If your store is doing double coupons this week you can get jumbobones for .99-.49 depending on what coupons you have.
Use the 1.00 off jumbo bone coupon from last week's insert. 2.99-1.00(1.00)=.99
If you were able to find the buy one/get one coupon you could buy 2, use the 1.00 off and the buy/get one coupon to score 2 packages for .49 cents!

Kmart has double coupons this week. There is a $1.00/off Pedigree Jumbo bones in the Redplum coupon insert this week.
Jumbo bones are 2.99-1.00(1.00)=.99
From what I have found in stores this is a pretty good price point for the treats. I even find the mini version to be a nice treat for my pup.

Double Coupons at Kmart!

Mercedes over at Common Sense with Money is reporting double coupons at Kmart next week. Go here for the list of stores that have confirmed they are participating. This is a great time to stock up on dog treats for a very low cost. You can only use four of the same coupon and usually it will only double coupons up to 2.00(although one week it was 3.00). I've heard that you can't use internet printed coupons, however, it may be up to your store.

Last time I got beggin strips for .25 a bag and a 5lb bag of Goodlife dog food for 1.99!

Just got back from Kmart Double coupon days!

Kmart is doing double coupons this week up to 2.00. You can only use 1 coupon per item and the same coupon 4 times. Here is what I got.

3 bags of Beggin Strips(found 1.00 off coupons on the bag)@ 2.50 each-2.00(3)=1.50 or .50 a bag.
If you have the b1/g1 coupon you could combine that with this offer but I don't know if it would double. But you could potentially get 4 bags(4 bags@.50 each plus b1/g1(2) for 1.00 or .25 each.

1 bag of Pupporini@ 2.99-1.00(2)=.99

1 4lb bag of Goodlife Adult dog food=4.99-1.50(2)=1.99

I wanted to also get some Busy bones, but at the original price-double coupons I can pay about the same amount at Target. So I decided to pass on those for now.

Check your local Kmart ad to see if your store is also doing double coupons this week or next week! Rumor has it that next week it's up to 3.00 off. That would work great with some of the Iams coupons that have been in the P&G inserts!

CVS
CVS stores have Christmas clearance at 90% off. They offered stocking stuffers of squeeky toys and I found 2 of them at my store today! I got the hamburger/fries combination and 1 shoe, for .20 each!

K-Mart
Some K-marts are doing double coupons this week up to 2.00/off.
Beggin Strips and T-Bonz are on sale 4/10.
Combine with the 1.00 coupon(10/12/08 SS) and get them for .50 a bag. Hurry in to do this deal as the coupon expires 1/12/09. Also in the coupon inserts this week you should find a b1/g1 free coupon. Use this along with the above deal to make it even better!
T-bonz dog treats combine with 1.50 off(10/19/08 SS) and get them for free!

Other purina dog treat coupons include from the 11/16/08 SS 1.50 off 2.

At my K-mart they also sell a sample of the mini busy bones(for toy dogs) they are usually 1.00. Use the 1.00/1 coupon from this week's insert to get it for free. They often come with a 1.00 off your next purchase of a busy bone! This is great because often they do not specify a size and you can use the 1.00 off coupon to buy another bag!
